Losing One’s Head

Matter is darkness and consciousness is light. Yet our age considers materialism, the notion that nothing exists but matter, to be the sign of intelligence. Sigmund Freud showed us how there is a drive in his patients toward matter, which he called the death instinct. Collectively, our age loves death. It tries to blot out consciousness with drugs, noise, and distractions. That is considered to be the intelligent option. Continue reading

Augustine

Breathe in me O Holy Ghost, that my thoughts may all be holy.
Act in me O Holy Ghost, that my work, too, may be holy.
Draw my heart O Holy Ghost, that I love but what is holy.
Strengthen me O Holy Ghost, to defend all that is holy.
